APPLICATION PROCESS

a. Apply as an individual, not as a team.

b. Apply only if you are of 18-25 years of age and reside in the Southeast Asian Region.

c. You do not need to have a startup idea before applying.

d. There will be 3 rounds in the application process. 6 teams will be chosen to work together at the end of March.

e. Entire program will be fully funded.

PROGRAM ONLINE

a. You will meet your teams from across Southeast Asia – individuals with similar passion and interests as you.

b. You will work with your teams online through team-building, design thinking, problem identification and market validation strategies.

c. Facilitators and experienced mentors will be present to guide each team.

Singapore Innovation PROGRAM

a. Arrive in Singapore in July to physically meet your teams.

b. Prototype, perform market validation and obtain feedback from professional mentors and investors.

c. Refine and validate your business model and startup idea.

YSI’s Innovation Program aims to build strong and effective startup teams which create solutions to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). We are dedicated to making real solutions happen, to impact the world in a real and measurable way. By pushing the frontiers of online working, we bring together youth from across Southeast Asia to unite in their efforts to creating viable startups addressing pressing issues in the world.

The entire program will be fully funded.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • Dedicated and Passionate youths who are ready to commit to setting up a startup

  • Youth who have a proven track record of excellence in their SDG of interest.

  • Youth who display specific skills are encouraged to apply, so long as they can propose how their skills can be used towards product/service development.

  • Have the time to use 15-25 hours each week from April-June and the time it takes to create a real startup after the program.

  • Open minded people who respect different cultures, willing to understand different walks of life, see things in a new perspective, with the intention of creating a positive impact.

  • Able and willing to learn how to work online with a team from all over SEA.

  • People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, and bold enough to actually do it.

JOIN OUR INNOVATION PROGRAM AS A MENTOR OR FACILITATOR TO GUIDE OUR STARTUPS FROM IDEATION TO REALIZATION.

YSI’s Innovation Program aims to build strong and effective startup teams which create solutions to one or more of the sustainable development goals (UN SDGs). We are dedicated to making real solutions happen, to impact the world in a real and measurable way. By pushing the frontiers of online working, we bring together youth from across Southeast Asia to unite in their efforts to creating viable startups addressing pressing issues in the world. The entire program will be fully funded.

To bring the program to fruition and increase chances of success of our teams, we engage YOU (facilitators and mentors) who are passionate individuals who will guide our teams to the realization of their socially impactful ideas.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

1. FACILITATORS

  • Dedicated and Passionate individuals who will guide the teams with their discussions and materials.

  • Every week, facilitators will  meet up with the teams and go through YSI materials.

  • Initially, facilitators will guide discussions and ensure that teams are on the right track, and then entrust the initiative to the teams shortly after.

  • Have the time 3-4 hours each week from April-June to meet the teams online and guide them with YSI materials and with their milestones.


2. MENTORS

  • Dedicated and Passionate individuals who have several years of industry experience (even better if experience with sustainability-related sectors) and will be able to help teams to refine their ideas or connect them to the right people.

  • Have the time 3-4 hours each month from April-June to listen to milestone presentations from the teams and give opinions to allow the teams to improve and refine on their ideas.
